Looking for some fun seasonal activities around Rozzie, JP, and Brookline? Here are just a few great ideas for leisure that provide a more authentic, local visit for anyone visiting Boston:

 

Seasonal Distractions in Brookline, MA

·      As mentioned in our previous blog, you can check out the Larz Anderson Auto Museum if you’re a car enthusiast and want to check out some classic cars in a casual setting.

·      Walk, bike, or jog along the Emerald Necklace along many paths that connect to other neighborhoods for a fun way to explore the city.

·      Explore landmarks via a walking tour or visit Harvard Street for some local shopping and dining.

·      Find casual to upscale dining options that include a lot of diverse and authentic international cuisine.

 


Seasonal Distractions in Jamacia Plain, MA

·      Bike, walk, (and depending on the time of year you can even sail) on the Jamaica Pond with accessible paths for a mild hike or a challenging jog for runners.

·      Explore Centre Street for shopping and eating options as well as the JP Open Studios to look at local artists’ new work.

·      Check out other local businesses and shops, as well as street festivals every now and then, in Hyde Square.

·      Explore local green spaces and scenic views at the Arnold Arboretum.

·      Explore Roslindale Village (where Distraction is located!) with small shops, cafes, and dining options.

·      Take part in community activities, events, and farmer’s markets (depending on season) at Adams Park right in the heart of Roslindale.

Easy parking options and seasonal brews at Distraction Brewing Company

 

End your day with some seasonal craft brews at Distraction Brewing Company including our pumpkin spice wheat ale, cranberry French farmhouse ale, and our Oktoberfest, with other brews coming out soon. Visiting Distraction Brewing is easy with ample parking options across the street from our local brewery. These include the following:

 

Distraction Brewing Company Parking Options

 

1.     Adjacent to Roslindale Medical Center is a municipal lot with ample parking as well as weekend parking. The municipal lot is only a minute walk from our brewery!

2.     The MBTA Commuter Rail lot is also available for patrons that need to find additional parking if other lots are full or street parking is limited. Even if you’re not taking the MBTA you can still park there for a few hours as prices are only $2 for weekdays and $4 for the weekend. 

3.     Parking is also available for free across the street from St. Necatarios Greek Orthodox Church. This has less spots than the other two options, but is usually available throughout the week.

4.     Cohasset Street also has parking spaces behind the old Bank of America building/thrift shop as well.
